Major announcement regarding trash service.\u00c2\u00a0 The city of Lubbock will begin picking up our trash.\u00c2\u00a0 Each household will receive a roll out trash can by the week of November 19th.\u00c2\u00a0 I have just finished emailing every address to Debra and she has promised that they will be here by that date or sooner.\u00c2\u00a0 The cans are 96 gallons (which will hold approx. \u00c2\u00a03 of those large lawn bags).\u00c2\u00a0 It is a must that all the trash be placed in bags, no loose trash in the cans.\u00c2\u00a0 They are manually emptied.\u00c2\u00a0 So please please please remember not to toss loose trash in them.\u00c2\u00a0 Each can, when delivered, will have your address labeled on it (they’ve asked us not to mix them up) and a pamphlet which explains the procedures for utilization of this new system.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
At some point in the future, the city will have\u00c2\u00a0trucks which will automate dumping the cans, but they are unsure when those trucks will arrive and do not expect them\u00c2\u00a0very soon.\u00c2\u00a0 There will be a slight change of procedure when this occurs, but nothing drastic.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Also, they do plan to have smaller cans available in the near future, so after using these, if you decide you could get by with a smaller one, they will exhange your can.\u00c2\u00a0 I will let everyone know when these are available.<\/p>\n
Debra has asked that I tell everyone we are receiving this service ahead of other areas because we did have city trash service\u00c2\u00a0until Lubbock changed to the dumpster system, which\u00c2\u00a0the Haversham community could not accomodate and also because of problems with windblown and scattered trash.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
I do not yet have a pick up schedule, but will notify everyone as soon as I get it.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
