HAVERSHAM CLUB, INC.  MEETING
4:00 p.m. – Party House
Saturday, May 12, 2007

Joe Elmore called the meeting to order at 4:02 pm.  He asked everyone to introduce themselves, which everyone did.

Persons present:
Joe Elmore, Amanda Roberts, Bob Whipple, Patsy Whipple, Nancy Reddick, Randy Reddick, Betty Bradford, Jeff Wheeler, Jon Williams, Harlan Williams, Kay Ward, Gerald Ward, Nancy Storrs, mark Storrs, Steve White, Marquel White, LaJuan Campbell, Paul Campbell, Mark Foster, Ada Wray Foster, Brook Roberts, David Hart

The minutes were approved as written.

Treasurer’s Report: Kay Ward reported that the club has 10,150.53 in checking and 3507.32 in savings.   The taxes have been paid; the next expenditure will be insurance, which will be about 1400.00. Money has been spent on the easement, a roof for the pump room, leaks in the slab, and the sprinkler system.

Harlan Williams asked if a financial statement were available.  He also asked about the dues raise waiver for members over 65.00.  Kay Ward and others explained it to him.

Officers:  The new officers are:
President: Steve White
Vice President: Brook Roberts
Secretary: Randy Reddick
Treasurer: Kay Ward
Parliamentarian: LaJuan Campbell

Nancy Reddick stated that she will still take care of the calendar for parties.

Trash Pick-up: Discussion ensued about trash pickup and why Haversham residents pay taxes for city pickup but also for private pickup.  Joe Elmore stated that there will likely not be a solution any time soon, though he will stay on top of the issue.  Suggestions such as finsing out what similar neighborhoods do, going to News Channel 11, and seeing the City Council, were discussed.

The trash collector is asking for a raise; it was voted to raise the trash payment to 250.00, and go to 275.00 if neede be.

Other Items:

  • Joe Elmore asked everyone to read the rules and follow them.
  • Parties must be scheduled with the secretary.
  • There was a discussion of the poor condition of the drive off of Flint Ave.
  • David Hart will get an estimate for seal-chipping the drive.
  • The pool will close the week of September 10th.
  • Empty your own trash.
  • Cut up your tree limbs to fit in the dumpster.
  • Clean up after your party.
  • Please ask non-members to leave the premises.
  • 8 or more guests constitutes a party.
  • Members not in good standing won’t have acces to the facilitiers
  • The Campbells will get a bid for painting the party house floor.  Joe Elmore will pull up the carpet in the party house.

The meeting adjourned around 5 pm.

Minutes of June 24, 2006

HAVERSHAM CLUB, INC. MEETING

9:00 a.m. – Party House
Saturday, June 24, 2006

David Allison welcomed everyone to the meeting and called the meeting to order.    First order of business was to go around and introduce as we have so many new neighbors.

MINUTES:  Minutes from the April 10th meeting were reviewed; a quick synopsis was given by Janie Allen, secretary.  Kay Ward made a motion to accept the minutes as written Joe Elmore 2nd the motion, motion passed.

FINANCIAL:  Kay Ward gave an update on the current finances; all members in attendance had a copy of expenses, income and outgo.  We currently have a combined total between checking and savings of $8,408.00 however, taxes are coming due.  Mrs. Foster asked about the vandalism that occurred earlier this year Kay reported that an insurance claim was filed for that and the repairs have been made.  Betty Bradford made a motion to accept the treasures report, David Hart 2nd the motion, motion passed.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS:   A slate of officers was presented to those in attendance.         President – Joe Elmore
Vice Pres – Jim Ince / David Hart
Secretary – Randy Reddick
Parliamentarian – Alice Baker
Treasurer – Kay Ward
Betty Bradford commented she has been told that the Ince family will NOT be moving into the Hall house, David Hart agreed to take the position of Vice Pres.  Randy Reddick introduced our new website http://www.haversham.net it is up and running.  Access to names and addresses, phone numbers, etc will be password protected.
Betty Bradford made a motion to accept the amended slate of officers, Gerald Ward 2nd the motion, motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS/ISSUES:  New signs have been made for both gates and will be posted today.  Gates and party house doors must be kept closed and LOCKED.  Gates are self locking, be sure they close behind you.
Joe Elmore announced that the city of Lubbock has recently developed neighborhoods that do not have alley ways and that the city will be providing trash services for them.  He contacted the city and was able to secure the services for Haversham also.  The city does not currently have the truck that will be doing pick up but we can expect trash services within 9 months.
Karen Allison gave us an update on the remodel project.  There are several small projects that need to be finished up.  Discussion took place regarding an electric hot water heater for the party house, apartment and bathroom.  Karen suggested a tankless system gave an estimated cost of purchase, taxes, installation of ~$500.00.  Vote was called for, all were in favor.  Flooring in the party house was discussed, carpet some areas, tile, paint vs. stain.  There is still some asbestos tile under the carpeting.  Joe Elmore states he has equipment available that can take that up without problem.  Brad Rogers stated he has contacts regarding flooring and will get bids on several options.
Nancy Reddick addressed the issue of party reservations.  A calendar is posted over on the bar with scheduled parties.  Please do NOT just write your date on the calendar schedule it with her, this will avoid conflicts.  You can schedule your party via e-mail or on-line at the new website.  General rules regarding responsibility and clean up were discussed.  All members have an updated copy of the Haversham Club Rules.

10:15 meeting was adjourned.
