In accordance with Nancy Reddick’s suggestion (and I sincerely appreciate her concern for our oasis), I picked up a small animal trap from the City. The traps, which are baited with cat food, can only be set on Sun-Thurs and not on or the day before any holiday. For those joining the hunt, you must call the City to come pick up any possums caught in the trap. Do not attempt to dispose of any wild animals caught, with the exception of your or your neighbors’ pets and miniature children. For those, please let them out immediately. For your information we have an adolescent Siamese with a black collar. I would appreciate it if our little critter does not end up at the pound. My 4 year old loves that cat. I will set my trap in our corner of the commons on Sunday night, June 1st, after 6:00 pm and maintain it until the following Thursday at which time I’m returning the trap to the City. I’m encouraging all others that have received traps to use the same schedule for their respective area of the commons so our friends with small animals and miniature children don’t have to worry.
PLEASE help to inform your neighbors about this and in keeping any small pets, such as CATS, out of the commons during this period in order so that they will not be trapped. For those unfamiliar with these traps, they are harmless to the animals unless of course they are left in the heat for extended periods of time. Any pets and miniature children caught, can be easily released.
If you have any questions, I know you will call 747-0321.

Ah, the miniature children! Are they brownies? Or perhaps leprechauns? Or menehune perhaps or pixies or trolls? Do we have gnomes in Haversham? Pray tell, is there some hidden treasure in the neighborhood?
